Curtains up: JFK’s 2nd Delta Sky Club steps into the spotlight

Jul 28, 2023Jul 28, 2023

Delta Sky Club will take another bite at the Big Apple with the opening of its second lounge at its New York-JFK hub, located at Terminal 4 near Gate A7.

The nearly 14,000-square-foot Club, which seats more than 250 guests and includes a covered Sky Deck, will operate alongside the Club on Terminal 4, Concourse B. Together the two Clubs will have capacity for over 800 guests simultaneously at JFK.

The lounge design takes inspiration from New York City itself – the gritty and the glossy, a city rich with contrasts and pulsating with life. Just as true New Yorkers have their preferred haunts, the JFK T4-A lounge includes unique discoverable moments that are sure to become favorites for frequent guests.

A fireplace lounge provides cozy ambience for work or relaxation, while guests enjoy sweeping views of the airfield. A tucked-away nook with lush green seating evokes the elegance and privacy of a classic speakeasy. A signature, 360-degree premium bar serves as the Club’s centerpiece — a grand and inviting space, one suited to the city that never sleeps.

“This new Club is beautifully designed and packed with special details that reflect the magic of New York City,” said Claude Roussel, Managing Director — Delta Sky Club. “But much more important than that, it’s a place where our people can deliver Delta Sky Club’s signature hospitality, making each guest feel welcomed and cared for from the moment they step inside.”

This summer, Delta is offering more than 230 daily departures to 95 destinations from JFK--operating its largest trans-Atlantic schedule ever from the airport, with more than 230 weekly departures to destinations such as Geneva and London-Gatwick (two routes not flown since before the pandemic). Later this year, Delta will launch new seasonal service to Buenos Aires, further growing our offering to Delta customers in NYC traveling to South America. New seasonal service to Rio de Janeiro will start next winter as part of Delta’s joint venture partnership with LATAM.

As part of Delta Sky Club’s commitment to highlighting local, emerging chefs through its Local Flavor program, the JFK T4-A Club will feature the work of Elyssa Heller, founder and CEO of Edith’s Eatery & Grocery in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Guests of the T4-A Club can enjoy Elyssa’s takes on Jewish deli staples like brisket hash sandwich, vegetarian latkes and labneh parfait, topping off with a taste of Edith’s famous vegan Iced Café Slushie (cold brew, tahini, oat milk and simple syrup). Elyssa’s recipes will be featured in the Club through the end of September.

Since 2010, Delta has invested over $7 billion in infrastructure at its New York airports – including a $1.5 billion expansion project at JFK, which broke ground in late 2021. In January 2023, Delta consolidated all operations to Terminal 4, opening 10 new gates in the modernized, spacious Concourse A and making technology enhancements designed to maximize ease and efficiency during busy travel times, including self-service check-in kiosks and upgraded bag drop locations. An expansion of Concourse B, scheduled for completion in the fall of 2023, will include 28 gates that can accommodate various aircraft types, updated restrooms, and an expanded security checkpoint and baggage claim area.
